Transfer of Ownership:

• The Usher Family originally owned this property.
• In 1950, the barn and the land around it was sold to the Cronk Family.
• Ownership transferred to John and Grace Hunt when they purchased the property in 1960.
• Most of the land was sold in 1995, but the Hunts retain ownership of the barn.

Present Owners:

John and Grace Hunt are the present owners of this Wells barn.

Interesting Details:

• The barn’s date of construction is painted on the granary floor.
• This barn has many decorative features including window trim, door track covering, cornice trim under the roof eaves, and a slate roof.
• The slate for the barn’s roof came from the Northern Slate Quarry in Granville, NY.
• The slate was brought in on the railroad.
• This barn has been featured in the Interlaken Historical Society’s barn tour and has been used for various community events.
